According to provisional figures published by the French telecoms regulator Arcep, the number of broadband connections in France reached 15.55 million by 31 December 2007, up 22% from 14.8 million the previous year. Quarter-on-quarter growth was roughly 5%, or 700,000 users, in the three months to end-December, the regulator said, with xDSL-based delivery systems accounting for an overwhelming number, 14.8 million or 95%, of the overall total by the year-end. Arcep will publish the final results for the fourth quarter in its Market Observatory on 30 April 2008.
