Indonesia’s second largest telecoms group by revenues, PT Indosat, says the number of mobile users signed up to its Satelindo service climbed 47% in 2007 to 24.5 million subscribers by the end of the year. Average revenue per user (ARPU) dipped 10.5% year-on-year to IDR53,000 (USD5.78) per month, said Indosat president director Johnny Sjam. The company is looking to raise around USD300 million-USD400 million in 2007 – including USD164 million from the sale of local currency bonds – to help fund its planned capital expansion of USD1.2 billion. The remaining capital will be raised from bank loans or global bonds, Sjam said.
