Azeri cellcos to negotiate 3G frequencies

Today.Az reports that the three GSM cellcos in Azerbaijan are in talks with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) regarding licences and frequencies appropriate for the provision of 3G services. The MCIT said that market leader Azercell along with rivals Bakcell and Azerfon, which offers services under the NarMobile banner, will apply to the ministry for licences in the first half of 2008 after a number of technical issues (which were not specified) have been resolved.
