Italian multi-service operator Wind has posted its results for the full year 2007. Net profit rose to EUR198 million (USD291.9 million), up from EUR23 million in 2006, on the back of higher sales, lower costs and the sale of its fixed line unit Tellas. Total turnover in 2007 reached EUR5.27 billion up 6.8% year-on-year. Excluding Tellas, EBITDA rose 9.9% to EUR1.81 billion.
Wind’s mobile business achieved 6.4% subscriber growth in 2007, to a total of 15.6 million at the year-end, while monthly ARPU rose to EUR19.2. In the fixed line segment, voice customers increased 46% to 1.37 million, while broadband users totalled 1.02 million at 31 December 2007, up 34% from 2006. Wind’s unbundled infrastructure currently passes 43% of Italian households; it is targeting half of all homes by the end othis year.
