Verizon launches unlimited voice/data plans

Verizon Wireless, the largest CDMA-based wireless operator in the US, has launched a new suite of unlimited voice, data and SMS tariff plans. The company’s entry level plan ‘Basic’ costs USD99.99 per month for unlimited national voice minutes, Mobile Web 2.0 access, and internet access. Users can opt for a USD20 add-on giving them access to the ‘Select’ plan which also includes unlimited picture messaging, video, and SMS messages to and from other numbers in the US. The operator’s premier service plan ‘Premium’ costs USD139.99 per month for all the above plus V CAST Video, VZ Navigator, and Verizon’s push-based Mobile E-mail service. To support the new tariffs the cellco is also updating its plans for smart phones and BlackBerry devices, it said.
