Dialog Telekom, Telekom Malaysia’s Sri Lankan subsidiary, has reported that net profit in 2007 fell 11% to LKR8.97 billion (USD83 million), as it incurred costs from establishing a TV broadcasting division. The island’s leading cellco by subscribers posted a 27% increase in annual revenues to LKR32.5 billion. Its television unit reported a loss of LKR788.5 million in the year, the company added in a statement. Also last year the GSM operator launched fixed wireless voice and data services using CDMA technology.
