Vodafone to trial HSPA+

13 Feb 2008

Vodafone will trial an updated version of the mobile broadband technology HSPA, known as HSPA+ or HSPA Evolution, to test whether it can deliver higher data rates through an upgrade of its existing network equipment. In a statement Vodafone said it would work with Ericsson, Huawei and Qualcomm to trial the technology. The initiative will help to establish whether HSPA+ is capable of delivering data throughput rates of up to 28.8Mbps compared to the 14.4Mbps maximum offered by today’s HSPA networks.
