Vodafone plays down Tiscali interest

The Italian/UK internet service provider Tiscali has said it has not received any expressions of interest from potential buyers, despite growing speculation that Vodafone is lining up a takeover bid. The rumours have seen Tiscali’s share price surge by as much as 23%, Thomson Financial reports. Vodafone has refused to comment on the speculation.
