Docas to pay USD22mn for Intelig

7 Feb 2008

Brazilian investment group Docas is paying USD22 million to acquire one of the country’s long-distance operators Intelig, writes BNamericas citing a company statement. Docas closed the deal to purchase Intelig last month at which time it agreed to pay USD12 million to Intelig’s owners, British-owned National Grid, US-based Sprint Nextel and France Telecom. The remaining USD10 million will be paid when Docas actually takes control of Intelig, which is expected to happen shortly upon authorisation from local telecoms regulator Anatel and antitrust authority Cade.
