AT&T to expand high speed wireless network

7 Feb 2008

AT&T Inc yesterday announced plans to expand its wireless networks with 3G/HSPA technology in a move that could potentially benefit potential AT&T iPhone users. The 3.5G upgrade will enable AT&T customers to download music or video at speeds of up to 1.4Mbps as well as uploading data at speeds of up to 800kbps. It hopes the faster speeds will enhance the iPhone which is currently limited to EDGE speeds of around 200kbps downstream, potentially driving Apple’s iPhone sales upwards in the coming year or so.
