Telecom Argentina expects to start testing IPTV in June

According to BNamericas, quoting local paper El Cronista, former fixed line incumbent Telecom Argentina (TEO) expects to start technical tests of IPTV in June. TEO said it will not commercially launch until the government allows telecoms operators to offer broadcasting services. TEO and rival telco Telefonica de Argentina (TdA) are awaiting modifications to current regulations in order to start offering triple-play packages. However, local analyst Enrique Carrier said there was no indication that the law was likely to be changed this year, and any regulatory change will be slow in coming as there are many interests involved in the issue.
