15 new operators form a (fixed) line

5 Feb 2008

Croatia’s Minister of Transport and Communications Bozidar Kalmeta has revealed that 15 new operators are on a waiting list to receive fixed telephony operating licences, Croatia Today reports. The minister made the announcement alongside the presentation of the draft 2008 plan of the Croatian Telecommunications Agency (CTA). Kalmeta also claimed alternative fixed line providers had so far taken 15% of the market from incumbent T-Hrvatski Telekom, and reduced prices by between 7% and 33%, depending on the service package. The CTA predicts altnets could take a 20% market share by the end of this year, whilst reducing prices by an additional 5%.
