MTS covers its extremities

Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), Russia’s largest cellco by subscribers, has launched commercial GSM services in the Chukotka autonomous region, bringing the number of regions covered by its network to 82 out of a total of 83 that it holds licences for. The first area in the region to receive the service was the administrative centre of Anadyr, with users in Bilibino scheduled next. MTS is also planning to cover the rail and road links in the district. Chukotka is the northeastern extremity of Russia’s Far East region.
