NEC Corporation has signed a framework contract with Polish telco Netia for the supply of a point-to-point wireless access system, known as PASOLINK NEO, for its wireless subsidiary P4. PASOLINK NEO will carry transmission between mobile base stations; P4 plans to install around 10,000 so-called ‘hops’ over a period of five years of which NEC will provide around 1,000, mainly to the northern and central areas of Poland, as well as the capital Warsaw.
