The largest telco in the US, AT&T Inc, has extended and expanded its broadband internet partnership with search engine Yahoo!. The new multi-year alliance builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies which has seen them offer a number of co-branded products. The new att.net portal, which will be launched later this year, will feature Yahoo! search and display advertising and will also incorporate the My Yahoo! and Yahoo! Mail platforms. The alliance will also cover mobile internet services. Randall Stephenson, chairman and CEO of AT&T Inc, commented: ‘This new agreement with Yahoo! reinforces AT&T’s leadership in wireless and broadband and enables both companies to bring their respective strengths to the table to benefit AT&T’s customers. It also reflects the benefits of establishing strong alliances in business today.’ The terms of the revenue sharing agreement between the two firms were not disclosed.
