Telecoms Express now leaving Kazakhstan

Russia has successfully put into orbit a new Express-AM33 telecommunications satellite, the Federal Space Agency announced. The satellite, which will provide TV and satellite communications all over Russia, was launched from the Baikonur space centre in Kazakhstan yesterday. Another scheduled launch, of the Thor-2R communications satellite owned by Norway’s Telenor Satellite Broadcasting, will take place on 10 February.
