Batelco signs up 38,000 3.5G users in first month

Batelco’s chief executive Peter Kaliaropoulos said the Bahraini incumbent’s new ‘O-net’ HSDPA mobile broadband service, launched at the start of the year, has 38,000 subscribers, exceeding the company’s minimum expectations of 30,000 users this year within its first month. Batelco’s 3.5G portfolio includes mobile broadband, mobile video calling, mobile video conferencing and a new mobile portal with a wide range of content targeting various user segments.
