Maltese telco GOes for ForthNet stake

22 Jan 2008

Greek alternative telco ForthNet has confirmed that its three largest shareholders, Novator Equities, the Foundation for Research and Technology and Cycladic Catalyst Master Fund are negotiating the sale of a stake to Maltese telco GO (formerly Maltacom), representing approximately 20% of ForthNet’s voting rights. The parties have not yet reached an agreement, but ForthNet says it will make further announcements when it receives updated information. GO is 60%-owned by Emirates International Telecommunications Malta, a joint venture of Tecom Investments and Dubai Investment Group, both part of the Dubai Holding group. Tecom’s recent acquisitions include a 35% stake in Tunisie Telecom.
