PTS announces schedule for WiMAX, cellular frequency auctions

Sweden’s telecoms regulator the PTS has published schedules for its planned auctions of nationwide licences for wireless broadband services in the 2500MHz–2690MHz band and for mobile services in the 1900MHz–1905MHz band. The last date to apply for both these auctions is 10 March 2008. The 2.6GHz sale is scheduled to start on 14 April, with 15 frequency blocks, 14 FDD blocks and one TDD block up for grabs in an online auction. A sealed-bid auction for the 1900MHz spectrum will take place on 18 March.
