DoCoMo, ACCA dissolve failed WiMAX joint venture

21 Jan 2008

NTT DoCoMo, ACCA Wireless and ACCA Networks have jointly announced the dissolution of the strategic partnership they formed in August 2007 to bid for a wireless broadband licence based on WiMAX technology in the 2.5GHz band. On 21 December the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications endorsed the bids of rival mobile operator KDDI Corp and PHS operator Willcom for the two concessions on offer, making the DoCoMo/ACCA strategic partnership no longer relevant.
