The City of Kenora municipal authority has accepted Bell Aliant’s CAD27 million (USD26.4 million) offer to purchase its local fixed line network. The council of the small northwestern Ontario city voted Tuesday to authorise the sale of Kenora Municipal Telephone System, which has been in operation since 1902. The deal is expected to close in early February, subject to approval by Industry Canada and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).
