Verizon Wireless invested USD38 Million in 2007 to enhance Kentucky network

Verizon Wireless invested more than USD38 million in 2007 to enhance its digital network in Kentucky. As part of the network upgrade works, the cellco is deploying new cell sites as well as upgrading the existing ones. Verizon is also looking to extend its high speed wireless broadband network into new markets. Established in 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested in excess of USD221 million on network enhancements in Kentucky. The upgrades in 2007 include 26 new cell sites, equipment upgrades to existing sites and the expansion of high speed wireless broadband network to 33 cell sites across Kentucky, including the markets of Madisonville, Nicholasville and Paducah.
