GVT launches RFP for VoD

Brazilian telco Global Village Telecom has launched an urgent request for proposals (RFP) for the supply of a video-on-demand (VoD) platform. IPTV News writes that it is looking for interested parties to submit proposals by 25 January, with the winner expected to deliver the platform by June 2008. GVT is interested in ‘starting to offer triple-play (voice, video and internet) with a VoD platform, the goal being to offer its subscribers services and the capacity to expand this service to broadcast TV in the near future’. GVT has operations in 58 cities in the central and southern regions of Brazil, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Brasilia.
