MetroPCS moves into Jacksonville

The US cellular operator MetroPCS has acquired rights to 10MHz of wireless spectrum covering the city of Jacksonville in Florida and has also bought the local subscriber base and network assets of NTCH/Cleartalk PCS. The 10MHz of PCS spectrum was bought from PTA Communications. The financial details were not disclosed. MetroPCS plans to launch its first services to the 1.5 million people of Jacksonville in the second quarter of this year.
