T-Mobile USA to spend USD10.3bn on 2G, 3G rollout

11 Jan 2008

T-Mobile USA plans to spend EUR7 billion (USD10.3 billion) between 2007 and 2008 to expand its 2G service and deploy 3G, the firm’s chief executive Robert Dotson announced at an investors’ conference. The CEO said the investment would adversely impact profit margins in the next two years, but was generally positive about reaching the mid-30% range. ‘If you look at where our margins are today: low 30, 31, where we’ve been over the last twelve months, clearly there’s a path for us that we feel good about getting to that mid-30s area on margin,’ he said.
