Movistar wins 450MHz fixed wireless licence

Peruvian cellco Movistar has won a licence to provide fixed wireless services in the 450MHz spectrum band writes BNamericas, citing a statement from the state agency for promoting private investment ProInversion. The other prequalified operators were Telmex Peru and the STM-Valtron consortium. Under the 20-year concession Movistar is expected to provide fixed wireless and mobile services in the capital Lima and the neighbouring city Callao in the 452.5MHz-457.5MHz and 462.5MHz-467.5MHz frequencies. Movistar is committed to the deployment of 501,000 lines in the two cities over a three-year period.
