Sprint signs more WiMAX deals

Sprint Nextel has announced a number of deals in preparation for its launch of a nationwide mobile WiMAX network later this year. The firm, which plans to offer WiMAX-based services under the name Xohm, has revealed that modem producer ZyXEL and chip manufacturer Sequans are collaborating on the development of a WiMAX modem/router which will be launched in the second half of this year. Sprint has also announced that Amdocs will be supporting the Xohm portal by providing service activation, provisioning and customer services, while ad firm Soho Square will help build the Xohm brand. Meanwhile, a data storage deal has been signed with SwapDrive, McAfee will provide online security services and eTelecare Global Solutions will offer customer services support.
