US Cellular: quiet fourth quarter will hit profits

8 Jan 2008

The US wireless operator US Cellular says it expects lower than anticipated profits for full-year 2007 after net customer additions failed to meet targets. The firm says it is likely to have added between 325,000 and 340,000 net new users in 2007 instead of the 375,000-425,000 it had been forecasting back in September. As a result, operating income is expected to stand at between USD385 million and USD435 million, down on its earlier estimates of USD410 million-USD460 million.
