Broadcaster Digital Cable Systems (DCS) has completed the takeover of alternative fixed line telco Dial Telecom Romania (DTR) for an undisclosed price. Based on revenues and EBITDA, DTR is valued at around EUR6 million (USD8.8 million), according to reporter.gr. Dial Telecom focuses on providing telephony and internet access for corporate users, and has two other branches in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, connected by a fibre-optic backbone between Prague, Bratislava and Bucharest. The group also has points of presence in Budapest, Vienna and Warsaw. Bucharest-based DCS was founded in Q1 2005 and is owned by a number of private shareholders, each of them primarily involved in the Romanian regional pay-TV sector.
