Tele2 awarded 3G licence in Norway

14 Dec 2007

Swedish telecoms group Tele2 has announced that its joint venture company Mobile Norway, which it co-owns with Network Norway, has been allocated a Norwegian 3G licence. The licence fee is reported to be around NOK47 million. Phase one of the joint venture’s build-out of Norway’s third GSM network is ongoing and the 3G licence will further enhance the company’s operations, Tele2 said, adding that it plans to launch commercial services on the jointly owned network in early 2010.
