FT signs VoD deal with MGM

France Telecom’s Orange unit has signed a multiyear video-on-demand (VoD) contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM), the studio’s Co-President for Worldwide Television, Gary Marenzi, has announced. Under the deal, FT’s video service 24/24 Video will carry a full range of MGM-produced films including new releases and classic movies from the archives to Orange customers in France, Spain, Poland and soon in the UK, via VoD. Customers with subscriptions to Orange’s IPTV or high speed broadband service will be eligible for the new service with prices starting at EUR1 (USD1.47) per film.
