WiMAX licensing expected soon

Iran’s Radio Communication & Regulation Organisation (RCRO) says it expects to begin its WiMAX licensing process soon. Mahmoud Khosravi, president of RCRO, has told local news agency MOBNA that the regulator will shortly be reviewing the licence terms and will then launch a tender to offer three WiMAX concessions per province. He added that incentives may be offered to ensure that operators deploy networks in rural regions as well as the more lucrative urban areas.
