T-Mobile International selects Huawei for packet switched core

Converge Network Digest reports that German group T-Mobile International has selected vendor Huawei Technologies to provide next-generation packet switched core networks (PSCN) for its infrastructure in five European countries: Germany, the UK, Austria, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. The deal involves Huawei replacing existing networks with its PSCN equipment. The Chinese supplier said the contract represents an important milestone in Europe. T-Mobile International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom and boasted 106.4 million customers in twelve markets at the end of 2006.
