Tele2 Russia says it has been officially awarded the 14 new GSM-1800 concessions it won in spectrum auctions last month, adding to the three it was awarded several weeks ago. The firm says it now has licences covering 34 Russian regions which are home to around 60 million people; its licence areas now include 23 concessions in the Northwest and Central Federal Districts, two in the Southern Federal District, three in the Volga Federal District, one in the Urals Federal District and five in Siberia. It says it plans to launch services in its new concession regions in 2009.
