Ericsson is the MAN

11 Dec 2007

Sweden’s Ericsson has signed turnkey contracts with seven Greek municipalities to supply and install fibre-optic Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs). The new MANs will link public buildings in Agrinio, Chania, Ermoupolis, Ierapetra, Iraklio, Kozani and Rethymno, providing access to high speed services, whilst the contract also includes switching and Wi-Fi systems. Rollout has already started. The initiative follows a similar municipal fibre-optic project carried out by Ericsson in the Greek city of Trikala, under a deal signed in March 2007.
