Mexico-based America Movil (AM) says it will bid for 3G mobile licences in Brazil when the auction opens tomorrow, Bloomberg reports. AM owns and operates the country’s third largest mobile operator Telecom Americas (Claro) which began offering 3G services last month in the 850MHz band, in an area covering 33 million people in Brasilia, Recife and Fortaleza, adding Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro this month.
