PCCW expands state Wi-Fi

Hong Kong’s government has signed a contract with incumbent telco PCCW-HKT to provide Wi-Fi broadband internet access facilities at 350 state premises. There are already more than 5,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in Hong Kong and Government Chief Information Officer Howard Dickson believes the figure will grow to about 8,000 by the time PCCW’s project is completed in mid-2009.
