Colombia’s telecoms regulator, the Comision de Regulacion de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) has announced it has cut the maximum connection fee mobile operators are allowed to charge for calls made to their networks by rivals’ customers. CRT set the new maximum fee at COP123.74 (USD0.06) per minute, down from COP250.
The fee reduction is aimed at boosting competition among operators and promoting investment in the sector, according to Lorenzo Villegas, director of CRT.
