6 Dec 2007

According to local news service IDG Now!, quoted by BNamericas, Telefonica Brazil plans to launch a high speed broadband service, dubbed Speedy, in Sao Paulo in February 2008. Initially connection speeds will be up to 30Mbps, rising to 100Mbps later in the year. The deployment comes as part of Telefonica’s USD8.3 billion CAPEX program for Brazil during 2007 to 2010. The service will eventually be expanded to other cities across the country.
