Net Servicos targets growth repeat

6 Dec 2007

Francisco Valim, company president of Brazil’s largest pay TV provider Net Servicos, has been quoted by local news service Agencia Estado, as saying that he expects next year’s broadband and voice subscriber growth to at least match the rate this year. At the end of September 2007 the company – a subsidiary of Mexico’s Telmex – had 1.3 million broadband subscribers, reflecting a 71% increase year-on-year, and 469,000 voice customers, up 308%, via its Net Fone VoIP service. Valim said that ongoing increasing PC penetration meant that similar growth in the future was possible. The telco is studying possible acqusitions in service areas in which the company is not currently operating.
