Mexican regulator Cofetel has announced that the country’s telecommunications sector witnessed third-quarter revenue grow of 31.1% year-on-year, making it the strongest quarterly performance in the last seven years. Cofetel revealed that quarter-on-quarter the telecoms industry grew 3.7%, outstripping the local economy by a factor of 8.4. The watchdog attributes the growth to an increase in mobile phone and trunking traffic as well as the strengthening of competition in the satellite communications segment.
