Rostelecom sees 9M07 profits jump

The state-backed Russian long-distance operator Rostelecom has reported net profits of RUB8.85 billion (USD363 million) for the first nine months of 2007, up 76.7% year-on-year. Revenues for the period were up 6.4% to RUB46.54 billion. The state telecoms holding company Svyazinvest has a 38% stake in Rostelecom, which operates a 200,000km national communications network.
