Vibo lagging behind profit schedule

23 Nov 2007

Taiwanese 3G mobile operator Vibo has revealed that it now expects to miss a deadline for breaking even on a monthly basis by June 2008, due to larger than expected operating costs and CAPEX. Company president James Tsao said that Vibo has built around 6,500 base stations and plans to add another 1,000 for the purposes of providing HSDPA services, pencilled in for launch by mid-2008. He added that Vibo currently has 630,000 3G subscribers, and that he expects the total number of 3G users in Taiwan to increase by between three and five million in 2008.
