Verizon raises FiOS TV tariffs

21 Nov 2007

Verizon Communications plans to increase the prices of its FiOS TV service by almost 12% next year. The firm says monthly tariffs to access standalone TV services on the fibre-based network will rise from USD42.99 to USD47.99, though the price hikes will apply only to new customers; existing subscribers will pay USD42.99. The USD18 billion FiOS network, which uses fibre technology to provide high speed internet access and TV services and allows Verizon to compete with the triple-play packages offered by cable operators, has been rolled out in cities across 16 states.
