Andinatel expands broadband services

Ecuadorian fixed line operator Andinatel expects to sign up over 43,000 broadband internet subscribers between this December and March 2008, reports BNamericas quoting local news site Confirmado.net. According to the story, Andinatel expects to expand the coverage of its broadband service in the provinces of Pichincha, Esmeraldas, Tungurahua, Carchi, Imbabura Cotopaxi, Bolivar, Chimborazo, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza and Sucumbios. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Andinatel had around 25,000 DSL subscribers in northern and eastern provinces at mid-2007, up from 15,673 at end-2006.
