Japan’s Fair Trade Commission has issued warnings to the country’s largest mobile operator NTT DoCoMo and second-placed rival KDDI Corp over what it sees as excessive fine print in advertising brochures for the companies’ latest discount plans. Bloomberg writes that the trade regulator is concerned that brochures published by DoCoMo and KDDI contain information about contract length and cancellation fees in a font so small they could easily be overlooked by customers, and as such mislead them. A spokesman for Softbank Mobile said it had not received a warning.
