HTIL reports solid global progress

16 Nov 2007

Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HTIL) has released its unaudited key performance indicators for the quarter ended 30 September 2007, with solid progress reported across its international telecoms footprint. The Hong Kong-based group’s total customer base rose by 32.7% during the quarter to 9.1 million. The increase reflected not only the first time contribution from HTIL’s Indonesian and Vietnamese units, which reported mobile customer bases of over 1.6 million and 185,000 respectively at end-September, but also continued 3G subscriber growth domestically and in Israel, with 3G users in Hong Kong increasing by 9% to 958,000 in the quarter. Sri Lanka and Thailand also delivered strong quarterly growth reporting a 22% and 11% increase in mobile users respectively, as the Sri Lankan operation passed the one million customer mark during the quarter.
