Sonatel signs contract with Ascade

Senegalese fixed line incumbent Sonatel has selected Ascade, a company which provides advanced routing, billing and quality solutions for the interconnect market, to supply it with its Carrier Cockpit Suite to optimise and automate all aspects of the operator’s global interconnect business. Sonatel is Senegal’s national telecoms operator and the country’s largest international wholesale carrier. Sonatel Group, which operates under the Orange brand, owns further telecommunication operations in neighbouring Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Mali. Founded in 1985 after the merger of Telesenegal and the Post Telecommunications Office of Senegal, Sonatel became a private company in 1997 in a strategic partnership with France Telecom.
