Vodafone raises full year forecasts

13 Nov 2007

Vodafone has raised its full year profit and revenue forecasts on the back of strong first half results. The Newbury-based cello announced it was raising its revenue forecasts by about GBP1 billion (USD2 billion) to an increased range of GBP34.5 billion to GBP35.1 billion. Similarly it is now expecting to make an adjusted operating profit in the range of GBP9.5 billion to GBP9.9 billion, higher than the GBP9.3 billion to GBP9.8 billion it had previously revealed. The message was delivered along with Vodafone’s first half results for the six months ended 30 September 2007, which revealed that revenue grew by 9% to GBP17 billion, while adjusted operating profit grew 1.6% to GBP5.2 billion. 40% revenue growth from emerging markets operations such as India and Turkey helped to offset pedestrian revenue growth of 2% in Europe.
