Telecom Italia and Vodafone renew network deal

13 Nov 2007

Telecom Italia and Vodafone Italia have signed a six-year agreement to share their existing and future mobile network access sites. The deal renews an earlier agreement which has seen the two firms share infrastructure such as poles, cables, electrical and air-conditioning equipment, Dow Jones reports. The telcos, which between them control more than 70% of all Italian mobile subscribers, use each other’s infrastructure to help improve their cellular network footprint without paying out for new network equipment.
